Every person who has hearing loss, hearing defects or hearing impairments can be helped to hear clearly again with the use of three basic hearing health care secrets for a better hearing. It is true that if a person used to have normal hearing, a mild hearing impairment or hearing loss does not necessarily require hearing aids or any significant loss that requires them. Before I disclose the secrets for a better hearing, it is important for readers to know that hearing happens inside our brains and not in the mechanical part of the body which is our ears. Sound vibrations only pass through our ears and the ears will send the message or signal to the brain. The brain now combines the information that was gathered with regards to what you expect to hear with what you have seen. Once the brain was able to put the messages all together, we expect to understand and hear what was said. The listening tips that will be discusses are going to deal with your eyes, your ears as well as in your brain. Keep in mind that we are able to hear best when all three factors were combined and working altogether, helping each other to achieve the kind of result that the body needs.

Secret no. 1: Keep an eye on the speaker. It is important for all people to know that our ears and eyes work together to give our brain the right amount of information that it needs for us to hear and understand at the same time. You have to use your eyes so that you can help your ear to hear better. In order to do that, you can move in closer to the speaker so that you can have a clear view of his or her face. This could help you read their lips as well as to watch for their facial expressions which could add a lot to your understanding of the discourse.

In today’s world, we and our lifestyles are the chief cause and culprits of most of many diseases. The major diseases the earlier centuries encountered were pandemics, and other infectious diseases like tuberculosis, small pox, malaria, etc. Deficiency of vital nutrients, vitamins, and protein in our biological system might either result in diseases or might show up as symptoms. It is common practice that doctors prescribe vitamin or protein supplements whenever tests show that we are deficient of certain nutrients. A supplement is prescribed when you do not either have it or do not have enough of it.

Our recent cultural changes and our shift in the food habit is one main reason for the malady. An adult needs 1gm/kg body weight of protein per day, 20-50g of fats, about 200-800g of carbohydrates, nearly a dozen vitamins and minerals. In addition we require 2-3 L of uncontaminated drinking water to wash out the free radicals and to free us from the toxins. Any lack or deficient intake of carbohydrates, fat and water in an otherwise healthy individual would give rise to hunger, thirst and weariness. When your body is short of the proteins, vitamins, and minerals which are normally necessary, the effect of the deficiency is not immediate. But over a period of time it might show up and might cause degenerative effects in the system. Our body needs proteins on a daily basis as proteins are the building blocks that create body mass. Every cell in our body has a life span of 720 days but the cells in our brain need to be replaced every two days because that is how long they live. When the body does not get enough protein from the food we consume, the dead brain cells would not stand a chance to get replaced. This deficiency would show up as loss of memory and would also manifest itself in other debilitating diseases connected to the brain. That is the reason doctors prescribe nutrition supplements along with a balanced diet.

The hot trends in allied health point to growth in certain fields that some people may not even consider to be health care careers. Now that alternative medicine and holistic healing have become so popular and accepted as an important addition to Western medicine, even more allied health careers have entered the marketplace. Some of the fastest growing jobs in the healthcare field fall into these alternative and holistic categories, and these emerging job markets are definitely a noticeable trend.
Allied health careers were identified as “a cluster of health professions covering as many as 100 occupational titles, exclusive of physicians, nurses and a handful of others” by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions. This obviously includes a lot of professions. Medical assistants, dental hygienists, opticians, radiologic technologists / technicians, diagnostic medical sonographers, cardiovascular technologists / technicians and paramedics are some of the most well known allied health professions. These only scratch the surface of the allied health world, though.
One of the fastest growing allied health careers is the field of massage therapy, which is expected to grow by approximately 20 percent in the next decade. More and more people are relying on massages to relieve stress, reduce tension, diminish pain, accelerate healing, promote blood flow and speed the body’s detoxification process. Physical therapy is another growing profession, especially as the elderly population continues to increase. Physical therapists help people recover from injuries, which could be work-related, sports-related, accident-related or simply the result of old age. Personal trainers are also considered allied health professionals, and with the popularity of shows like The Biggest Loser, their demand has certainly increased.
Alternative medicine techniques such as acupuncture and oriental medicine are becoming increasingly common as well. The fact is that people are looking beyond the confines of doctor’s offices and hospitals to maintain their health and improve their lives these days, which is making a big impact on the medical field. As the hot trends in allied health continue heading in this direction, jobs in fields like massage therapy, personal training and acupuncture will continue to be in great demand.
